Ana Silva and Michael Brown

Demodosver/Ofseeingways presented at *Hotshot Gallery"

For this performance, Ana Silva (Chile) and Michael Brown (Canada) present several well known phrases in both Spanish and English. Each phrase having been broken down into individual words beforehand, is drawn randomly from a container, resulting in many possible variations on the well known phrase. This scrambled version of the quote/saying is read aloud through the performance. Then each phrase is presented in its original form.

Ana Silva and Michael Brown have done performances together since 2007. Silva, of Chilean nationality and Brown of Canadian nationality straddle both English and Spanish in their collaborations. Their work comments on language and identity and how these blur in an interconnected world.
